Public Relations is generally conceived as the art of shaping public perception through strategic communication processes. In the Philippines, public relations has grown into an industry spanning over half a century. Despite being a relatively new field, at least relative to that in neighboring nations, the practice of public relations by private and public sectors in the Philippines has been instrumental in the heightened public awareness and economic viability of its businesses.

Every September, the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), the country’s premier organization for PR professionals, organizes a public congress, whereby industry practitioners and interested participants gather to pay homage to their craft and equip themselves with the tools to traverse this competitive field through seminars and insightful talks.
This 26th and 27th of September, the PRSP shall hold its 31st National Public Relations (PR) Congress, set to take place at the Manila Hotel Tent City. The theme for this year’s Congress is “Into the Unknown: Communication in the Time of VUCA.” The Congress shall delve into the topics of the volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity or “VUCA” of this modern world, and how PR practitioners may conquer the same.
