SALES PROMOTION UNDER THE CONSUMER LAW (Republic Act No. 7394)

Sales promotion is defined as the means and techniques intended for broad consumer participation which contain promises of gain such as prizes, in cash or in kind, as a reward for the purchase of a product, security, service, or winning in contest, game, tournament and other similar competitions which involve determination of winner/s and which utilize mass media or other widespread media of information. It also means techniques purely intended to increase a product’s sales, patronage, and/or goodwill. (Article 4[bm] of Republic Act No. 7394)

Ban on importation of certain products under the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act

Under Republic Act No. 10863 or the Customs and Tariff Modernization Act, all goods may be freely imported into and exported from the Philippines without need for import and export permits, clearances or licenses unless otherwise prohibited by law or other regulations. Under Republic Act No. 11956, the Estate Tax Amnesty is extended until June 14, 2025, and shall now cover the estate of decedents who died on or before May 31, 2022, with or without assessments duly issued therefor, whose estate taxes have remained unpaid or have accrued as of the same date, May 31, 2022.
