AT A GLANCE:

Proclamation No. 727 declares the Regular Holidays and Special (Non-Working) Days for the Year 2025. Republic Act No. 9492 dated July 24, 2007 amended Section 26, Chapter 7, Book I of Executive Order (EO) No. 292, also known as the Administrative Code of 1987, by declaring certain days (specific or movable) as special or regular holidays.

One of the regular holidays in 2025 is the Araw ng Kagitingan which is celebrated every April 9.

“Araw ng Kagitingan” marks the annual commemoration of the Fall of Bataan on April 9, 1942, and the bravery of Filipino and American soldiers during the campaign against invading Japanese forces during World War II.

On this day we remember the heroism and the bravery of the Filipino and American soldiers who fought the Japanese army to bring freedom to our country.

The steadfast courage shown during the Battle of Bataan played a crucial role in shaping our nation’s history. Their sacrifices inspire us to confront challenges with determination, reminding us to proudly and resolutely acknowledge how far we have come as a country.
